Adult Learn to ride course

Welcome, and thank you for joining our Adult Learn to Cycle course.

This course is designed especially for adults who have never learned to ride a bike, or who haven’t ridden for many years and want a fresh, confidence‑building start. You don’t need any previous cycling experience to be here.

Learning to cycle as an adult can feel daunting, but you are not alone—many adults learn successfully every year. We’ll take things step by step, at your pace, in a safe, supportive, and non‑judgemental environment. There is absolutely no pressure to rush or compare yourself to others.

What You Can Expect

  • Calm, clear instruction from experienced instructors
  • A focus on balance first, before pedalling
  • Simple exercises that build confidence gradually
  • Plenty of encouragement and time to practise
  • A relaxed atmosphere where mistakes are part of learning

By the End of the Course, You May Be Able To:

  • Balance confidently on a bike
  • Start, stop, and steer with control
  • Pedal independently
  • Ride short distances safely

Everyone learns at a different speed, so success looks different for each person—and that’s perfectly okay.

Most Important Thing to Remember

This is your journey. We’re here to support you, keep you safe, and help you enjoy the process of learning to cycle.

Let’s start by getting comfortable with the bikes and taking our first steps together.
